In the morning of July 7, 2017, H.E. PAN Sorasak, Minister of Commerce had the honor to open the 11th Indonesian Trade and Tourism Promotion 2017 that took place in Koh Pich Exhibition and Convention Center.
The ceremony began with the welcome remarks provided by H.E. Pitono Purnomo, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Cambodia. In his remarks, the Ambassador stated the importance of this annual event which began in 2006 to boost bilateral trade and tourism relations between the two countries. For the current event, Excellency Purnomo informed the gathering that the exhibition will showcase many Indonesian products as well as promoting Indonesia’s tourism.
Meanwhile, H.E. Minister Pan Sorasak, in his opening speech, thanked the Indonesian Embassy for their coordination in making this event happened. Excellency Minister outlined the significance of trade and economic relations between Cambodia and Indonesia. Excellency Minister took this opportunity to address the Cambodia’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to encourage them to continue to develop themselves so that they can take part in similar events overseas as these kinds of event are very important in accessing and diversify markets for Cambodian products. Excellency Minister stressed that the development of SMEs will contribute to the inclusive growth of the Cambodian people as SMEs are the forces and catalysts for greater economic growth.
