  • Referring to the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia;

  • Referring to Reach Kret No. NS/RKT/1198/72 of November 30, 1998 on the formation of the Royal Government of Cambodia;

  • Referring to Reach Kram No. 02/NS/RKM/94 of July 20, 1994 promulgating the Law on the Organization and Functioning of the Council of Ministers;

  • Referring to Reach Kret No. NS/RKT/0399/72 of March 19, 1999 on the Creation of the Supreme Council for State Reform;

  • Pursuant to the proposal of the Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia.


IT IS HEREBY ORDERED

 

Article 1:    There shall be established a Council for Judiciary Reform as an entity under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Council for State Reform and whose composition shall be as follow: 

  1. H.E. Dith Munty, President of the Supreme Court                                           Chairman

  2. H.E. Ouk Vithun, Minister of Justice                                                              Vice-Chairman

  3. H.E. Mrs Ly Vouch Leng, President of the Appellate Court                              Secretary General

  4. H.E. Suy Nou, Secretary of State, Ministry of Justice                                     Member

  5. H.E. Real Muon, Member of the Supreme Council of Magistracy                      Member

  6. H.E. Leng Peng Long, Member of the Council of Jurists                                   Member

  7. H.E. Kranh Chey Leaphy Tony, Member of the Council of Jurists                      Member

Article 2:    The Council for Judiciary Reform shall have its office at the Office of the Council of Ministers. 

Article 3:    The Council shall have the objectives of initiating, promoting, enforcing, and following up the implementation of judiciary reform programs and policies in line with the objectives of the Council for State Reform, in particular, with the aim of strengthening the national judiciary system. 

Article 4:    Members of the Council shall attend meetings as convened by the chairman. 

Article 5:    The organization and functioning of the Council shall be determined by an Anukret. 

Article 6:    The Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia shall effectively implement this Reach Kret from the date of its signature.
